The summer truffle is a fungus that is underground, associated with the roots of truffle tree species. The size of each copy is variable. Its aroma is soft and pleasant. Its shape may be irregular or rounded, rougher than black and with marked pyramidal warts. Its color is similar to the black truffle, but without reddish tones. Its meat is brown and depending on the ripening it can be marbled with white veins. The summer truffle variety is the Tuber Aestivum Vittad.
